OUR TEAM
Our story began in 1960. At that time the salon, known as Figaro, was just a barber shop and was on the main street in Hull. When the Galeries de Hull opened, Mr. Benifto Schiffo, the original owner, moved the salon to be one of the first businesses inside the said shopping center.
FROM ONE OWNER TO ANOTHER
In 1990, Mr. Schiffo sold his salon to the current owner, Mr. Morissette. The latter worked for more than 30 years in the salon before thinking of buying it. Being long-time friends, the two allies were able to make the transition a real success.
FROM SIMPLE BARBER TO MIXED SALON
Since its opening, the salon has evolved greatly, going from 690 to 3,000 sq. ft. and from about ten employees to nearly thirty now. In addition, shortly after its acquisition, Mr. Morissette chose to expand the horizons of his salon by welcoming women following an expansion and the creation of a section specially designed for them.
This is how Le Figaro became Salon de Coiffure Figaro Figar-Elle, which is known as one of the oldest hair salons in the Gatineau region.
